Our Impact:

Medical imaging, a cornerstone of modern healthcare, is crucial for accurate diagnostics and effective treatment planning. However, the Washington South Sound region is facing a growing shortage of imaging science professionals, which poses a significant threat to the quality, timeliness, and accessibility of care for our community.

TRA Medical Imaging Foundation Education Fund
To address this challenge, the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation is investing in the future of imaging sciences through scholarships, mentoring, job shadowing, and support for training programs across the South Sound. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our region by cultivating a skilled and diverse workforce. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to empowering individuals pursuing careers in medical imaging. We provide financial assistance and personal mentorship to help students and professionals overcome barriers and thrive in a field that desperately needs their expertise.
The Education Fund also supports initiatives that expand access to career training and educational opportunities, ensuring that talent and passion, not circumstance, determine who can contribute to the field.

Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, leadership abilities, and career aspirations. In
addition to financial support, the Foundation offers mentorship by connecting scholars with seasoned technologists, radiologists, and healthcare professionals who offer guidance, resources, and accountability throughout their professional development.

Established in 2020 with a modest initial enrollment of four scholars, the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation Education Fund has experienced substantial growth. To date, the program has graduated 21 scholars, and the Foundation anticipates supporting up to 22 new and continuing scholars from various institutions by 2026.
