Our Funds:

Education Fund

TRA serves to advance and promote the profession of the Radiologic Technologist and Sonographer Specialist as career choices. TRA’s Medical Imaging Foundation's Education Fund provides financial support to individuals interested in developing their career in the fields of Radiologic Technology and Sonography through financial scholarships, mentoring and residency opportunities. Consistent with its mission TRA Medical Imaging Foundation established a scholarship program for students enrolled in Tacoma Community College’s Radiologic Technologist Program and Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program and are placing significant emphasis on applicants from diverse backgrounds and needs.

Awards include:

  • Financial awards up to $10,000 for first year students enrolled in the Radiology Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program; and up to $5,000 for second year students. These funds are provided over the course of the program and are contingent on meeting expectations of the school, maintaining a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and participating in the TRA Medical Imaging Foundation Mentorship Program.

  • Ongoing mentorship with a TRA Radiologist and a Technologist Mentor to assist in career guidance and professional development. 

 
Eligibility:
The TRA Radiologic Technologist Scholars application is open to individuals who:

  • Have been accepted into the Tacoma Community College Radiologic Sciences or Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program.

  • Are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

  • Maintain minimum of a 3.0 GPA

  • Have completed the TRA Scholarship application process.
